Located in the Lincoln, Nebraska area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. We're looking for people who have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.
Your responsibilities in this role
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Great attention to detail
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Foundational knowledge in reconciliations
Journal entries experience
General ledger experience
Month end closings experience desired
