Robert Half Staff Accountant in Lombard, Illinois

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant based in Lombard, Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records for our organization. This role encompasses a wide range of duties including processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and administering company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bills to purchase orders and receiving records, resolving discrepancies as necessary

• Process and record all bills in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring payments are made within discount periods

• Review and process expense reports; import and process employee credit card transactions

• Review sales orders, monitor fulfillment progress, and issue invoices to customers

• Monitor receivables and follow up with customers on past due accounts

• Monitor, review, and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation

• Comply with agency, local, state, and federal government reporting requirements

• Research and document tax and labor laws as needed

• Process payroll and administer employee benefits

• Update, communicate, explain, and enforce company policies and procedures

• Maintain fixed assets and rental equipment records

• Maintain insurance policies and schedules; distribute and collect insurance certificates to and from customers and suppliers as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to perform Journal Entries accurately

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in QuickBooks software

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of Sales Tax regulations and calculations

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
