Robert Half Junior Accountant in Longview, Texas
Description Staff Accountant candidates will be interested in Robert Half's full-time opportunity with an innovative company. This position is ideal for those who driven by a challenging work environment with many components. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Located in the Longview, Texas area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Responsibilities
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Experience with ERP systems
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Microsoft Excel experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Strong attention to detail
