Robert Half Network Engineer in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

  • Design, configure, and maintain Cisco network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.

  • Plan and implement network upgrades, expansions, and migrations in accordance with best practices and industry standards.

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure maximum uptime and availability.

  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements and support organizational goals.

  • Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and end-users as needed.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions for improving network performance and efficiency.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

  • 4+ years of experience in network engineering roles with a focus on Cisco technologies.

  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco networking equipment and protocols including Cisco IOS, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, VPN, and ACLs.

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Cisco ISR and ASR routers, and Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls.

  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including experience with Cisco security products such as Cisco ISE and Cisco Firepower.

  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are highly desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex network issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
