Robert Half Network Engineer in Memphis, Tennessee
Description
Design, configure, and maintain Cisco network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
Plan and implement network upgrades, expansions, and migrations in accordance with best practices and industry standards.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure maximum uptime and availability.
Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements and support organizational goals.
Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and end-users as needed.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions for improving network performance and efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
4+ years of experience in network engineering roles with a focus on Cisco technologies.
In-depth knowledge of Cisco networking equipment and protocols including Cisco IOS, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, VPN, and ACLs.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Cisco ISR and ASR routers, and Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls.
Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including experience with Cisco security products such as Cisco ISE and Cisco Firepower.
Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex network issues and implement effective solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
