The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin region. Responsibilities include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Key responsibilities
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective Requirements - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Strong attention to detail
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Month-end Financial experience preferred
Previous experience working with Automated Payroll
Adeptness in Monthly Financial Reporting
Experience with CPA Eligible
Practical knowledge of cost accounting
Background working with Standard Cost Accounting
Deep understanding of Month-end Close Activities
Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements
Made2Manage experience highly valued
Good understanding of Monthly Variance
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
General familiarity with semi-Monthly Payrolls
Earlier work involving CPA
Month-end Journal Entries experience
Comprehension of CPA Designation
Experience with Monthly Account Reconciliation
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
CPA/MBA preferred
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
