If you're a skilled accountant and enjoy solving complex problems, Colleen McAuliffe 408.906.0669 at Robert Half is currently looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. How you will make an impact
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Requirements - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Adeptness in Property Tax
Strong familiarity with billing
Bank reconciliations experience preferred
Experience with Monthly Bank Reconciliation
Command of general ledger
Demonstrated knowledge of cash applications
Journal entries experience desired
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Strong attention to detail
Efficient in ERP systems
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
