The Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Nashville, Tennessee region. If you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, you might be right for this position. Your responsibilities
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Adeptness in HealthCare Industry
Strong familiarity with Controllership
Month end closings experience
Foundational knowledge in financial analysis
Annual Financial Reporting experience highly desired
Full Cycle Accounting experience preferred
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
