Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 + 15% Bonus

Hybrid-3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Preferred Industries: Manufacturing, Pharma, Chemicals, or Utilities.

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to join our clients R& D Strategic Finance Team. This role offers the unique opportunity to play a critical dual role, serving as a financial planning and analysis (FP& A) partner to R& D leadership and a strategic business operations partner to the entire R& D organization. You will play a key role in analyzing financial performance, developing financial models, shaping R& D strategy including supporting M& A activity, and translating complex financial information into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across R& D.

Responsibilities

• R& D FP& A: Prepare monthly/quarterly variance analysis of actuals vs. budget/forecast for R& D leadership with the goal of driving actionable insights into operational and financial performance of the business.

• Strategic Finance: Conduct in-depth financial analysis of R& D costs, investments, and returns on investment (ROI), identifying opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.

• Liaise with operations and product management team to consolidate and report the weekly updates, monthly actuals, monthly forecasts and provide support for monthly operations reviews.

• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support market forecasts and trend analysis.

• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor relevant metrics to measure market performance.

• Create reports and dashboards to visualize data and present findings to company leadership.

• Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies and campaigns.

• Resource Optimization: Support the Director in leading R& D’s annual and long-range planning process, effectively managing global R& D resources.

• Financial Analysis: Analyze and dissect financial performance, highlighting trends and recommending possible adjustments to drive operational effectiveness and efficiency on the path to profitability.

• Present to executives and senior leadership with detailed financial data and analysis to drive effective business decisions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across R& D including Product and Engineering to ensure financial alignment with strategic objectives and drive key initiatives and KPIs

• Provide strategic and operational due diligence support during R& D-focused acquisitions, including financial due diligence and post-merger integration planning

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, accounting, finance, or economics preferred

• Minimum 3 years of combined financial analysis, business analysis, and/or accounting experience required

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business planning tools

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on innovation

• Solid understanding and use of accounting and finance principles

• Solid understanding of P& L statements and variables affecting profitability

• Solid project management skills, ability to independently manage tasks on time

• An MBA or other relevant advanced degree a plus

• Familiarity with R& D cost accounting principles a plus
