Robert Half is looking for a talented accounting manager to work with a thriving company as an Accounting Manager. This is a successful organization that will recognize your efforts. Leading daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable will be essential for this role. Candidates with the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations are the best fits for this position. Located in the New Haven, Connecticut area, this Accounting Manager position would be on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
Team up with FP& A and accounting management to develop relevant, timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, which includes document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes
Lead and supervise the accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure close deadlines are met
Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
Provide regular review and analysis of balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant
Play a key role in system and process design, data migration, testing, training, and go-forward system administration of NetSuite Financials
Possessing a thorough knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

Requirements - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities
Well-founded grasp of month end closings
General familiarity with Direct Supervision
Deep understanding of Aging Accounts
Proven knowledge of credit policies & procedures
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
Accounts receivables systems experience highly desired
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Accounts receivables systems experience required
Practical knowledge of general ledger
Wide ranging experience with Wholesale distribution
Quality experience with HVAC
5+ years of recent relevant financial experience
Strong problem-solving skills
