We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Analyst to join our legal client in the CBD of New Orleans. The role involves handling all aspects of the company's accounts receivable, billing, and collections functions. You will be working under the supervision of the office staff and attorneys, ensuring the firm's policies and procedures related to billing and collections are adhered to.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and complete all facets of the billing function, from setting up new clients and matters to collecting client payments and applying them to accounts.

• Apply time and costs on a monthly basis, working directly with attorneys to prepare and process prompt, accurate invoices.

• Generate drafts for each billing attorney monthly, and as requested, making edits to draft bills as necessary.

• Ensure task/activity codes are accurately reflected on each invoice and submit invoices to clients, either by mail or electronically.

• Provide necessary backup or additional information to assist with collections, monitoring and following up on invoices after they have been mailed or emailed.

• Handle any adjustments/disputes, monitor aging, and send out reminders of outstanding balances.

• Process client payments daily and apply payments to client accounts by matter.

• Maintain accounts receivable and WIP subledgers by entering, updating, and retrieving data.

• Generate ad hoc client account reports as requested by attorneys.

• Research and answer billing questions for attorneys, secretaries, and clients, responding timely to both internal and external requests for client account information.

• Handle other job-related duties including special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience as a Billing Analyst or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in the use of Coyote software is strongly preferred

• Experience in a law firm environment is preferred.

• Must possess strong analytical skills to review and analyze billing data.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a responsible way.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
