Description

Our client, a midsized/large full service law firm in lower Manhattan, is seeking a skilled and experienced General Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team at CLM.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling a wide range of commercial litigation matters and excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

As a key member of our firm, you will play a crucial role in representing our clients in various commercial disputes and providing expert legal advice and representation.

We are growing our Litigation team and looking for a 2nd-4th year associate admitted to the New York Bar. Prior clerkship experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters, including but not limited to breach of contract, business torts, intellectual property disputes, employment disputes, and regulatory issues.

• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and provide sound legal advice to clients.

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents necessary for litigation proceedings.

• Prepare for and represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution forums.

• Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and other fact-finding activities to gather evidence

• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to ensure effective case management and client representation.

• Negotiate settlements and participate in settlement conferences when appropriate, always advocating for the best interests of our clients.

• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends in commercial litigation to provide informed counsel to clients and adapt strategies accordingly.

• Represent the firm in a professional manner and uphold ethical standards in accordance with legal professional guidelines.

Requirements

Requirements:

• General commercial litigation experience

• Prior clerkship a plus but not required

• Must be admitted to the NY Bar

• Excellent judgment and analytical skills

• Strong interpersonal, management and administrative skills
