Robert Half Management Resources Controller in NEW YORK, New York

Large Midtown Non-Profit is looking for a Controller who can lead and implement change. *Candidates who meet the minimum requirements such as prior mid-large Non Profit should contact Kavita Shah at Kavita.Shah@RHMR.com. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and enhance finance operations processes: cash receipts, cash disbursements, receivables, payables, prepaid expenses;

  • Compile, analyze, and manage budget;

  • Manage staff and clerks at various levels of ability and seniority;

  • Prepare cash forecasts and liaise with grantors, Resource Development, and field operations regarding cash collections and cash requirements;

  • Establish or Enhance control activities;

  • Serve as a primary liaison for Co-Sourced Internal Audit Services Provider;

  • Prepare presentations and reports for Chief Financial Officer, Board/Committee meetings, and other audiences as requested;

  • Research accounting pronouncements and other regulatory guidance as it may relate to new and complex transactions or matters, as these may arise;

  • Complete special projects, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 6 years' Non-Profit experience, Community Service preferred;

  • MBA preferred, Bachelor's degree in related field required;

  • Sound understanding of US GAAP, CPA preferred;

  • Experience managing staff;

  • Proficiency with advanced MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint;

  • Proficiency with modern ERP systems such as Financial Edge preferred;

  • Demonstrated record of outstanding quantitative and analytical skills;

  • Ability to prioritize work to achieve tight deadlines in a complex environment;

  • Strong attention to detail, exceedingly well-organized, and technologically savvy;

  • Strong written and oral communication skills;

  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and external customers in a professional and flexible manner.
