Robert Half Fund Controller in New York, New York

Description We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our team in the commercial real estate industry located in New York. In this role, you will be responsible for fund level accounting for open-ended funds, particularly within the realm of real estate. You will also be tasked with preparing and reviewing financial statements, and handling other financial operations such as capital calls, distributions, and management fees.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing fund level accounting, with a focus on open-ended real estate funds

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements in a timely and accurate manner

• Handling financial operations such as capital calls, distributions, and management fees

• Utilizing Fund Accounting and Commercial Real Estate Investment skills to drive financial operations

• Leveraging knowledge of Statutory Financial Statements for financial statement preparation and review

• Applying knowledge of the Commercial Real Estate industry to support financial operations

• Communicating effectively, both verbally and in written form, with clients and team members

• Demonstrating independence and confidence in decision-making and problem-solving

• Using relevant software such as Yardi, or alternatively, MRI for various financial operations

• Embodying ambition and a drive for continual learning and development in the role. Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Controller or similar financial role

• Proficiency in Fund Accounting

• Experience in preparing Statutory Financial Statements

• Knowledge and understanding of Commercial Real Estate

• Familiarity with Commercial Real Estate Investment

• Experience or understanding of Waterfall financial models

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office

• Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations

• Excellent leadership and team management skills

• Proven strategic planning experience at the management level.
