The Senior Accountant is responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Real Estate & Property field and is located in New York, New York.
What you get to do every single day
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process Requirements - 1+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Excellent attention to detail
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
Prepare Balance Sheets experience required
Proficiency in Prepare Financial Statements
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Strong communication and social skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Experience with ERP systems
Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Able to manage time well
