Our client is a leading healthcare organization in the state of Connecticut, committed to providing exceptional patient care and innovative medical solutions. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team and contribute to our continued success.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in healthcare finance. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare accounting principles and regulations, along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, as well as providing strategic insights to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards. Provide variance analysis and explanations for key financial metrics.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support informed decision-making.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations. Prepare and submit required reports and filings in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Financial Systems Management: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of financial systems and software applications. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline workflows.

  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis as required. Implement recommendations to address any findings and enhance internal controls.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA designation preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with experience in a healthcare or non-profit setting

  • Thorough understanding of healthcare accounting principles, including revenue recognition, expense allocation, and healthcare reimbursement methodologies.

  • Proficiency in financial management systems and software, as well as advanced MS Excel skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with a collaborative and results-oriented approach.
