Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable to join our esteemed non-profit organization. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing our financial transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and donors. Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment disbursements, and collections

  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures

  • Process vendor payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders as necessary

  • Monitor and analyze accounts payable and accounts receivable aging reports, taking appropriate actions to address outstanding balances and delinquencies

  • Maintain vendor and donor records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve financial processes

  • Provide support during audits and assist with the preparation of financial reports

  • Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations and best practices in accounts payable and accounts receivable management

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices

  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

  • Commitment to the mission and values of the non-profit sector
