Description
Litigation attorney responsible for representing clients in personal injury and wrongful death actions, creating legal documents, and managing and advising clients in various legal proceedings.
Responsibilities:
Analyze potential client cases to determine eligibility and likelihood of success for workers' compensation claims.
Conduct client interviews to gather details about the work injury, including the cause, extent of injuries, and medical treatment received.
Investigate worksite accidents and gather evidence to support the client's claim. This may involve collecting medical records, witness statements, and accident reports.
Negotiate with insurance companies for maximum compensation for your clients, including medical benefits, lost wages, and vocational rehabilitation.
Prepare and file all necessary legal documents with the workers' compensation board.
Represent clients at hearings before the workers' compensation board and effectively argue their case.
Stay up-to-date on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
Maintain strong communication with clients, keeping them informed of the progress of their case and addressing their concerns.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the California state bar.
Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to persuasively advocate for clients.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Compassion and understanding for injured workers.
Strong work ethic and a commitment to client service.
