California based law firm has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney! This Associate Attorney will join a team of lawyers focusing on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation matters. As an Associate Attorney with this firm, you'll manage the litigation lifecycle for bad faith litigation cases from inception through closure and provide coverage analysis for insurance coverage matters. If you're looking to join a work-life balance firm with a low billable requirement, while keeping your litigation skills sharp, this is the position for you! This Associate Attorney is required to work on-site on a hybrid basis, about 3 days per week, in the Oakland, CA office. The ideal attorney will hold an active California Bar license and have 2-8+ years of insurance defense and/or insurance coverage experience.

Responsibilities:

• Coverage analysis

• Prepare coverage opinions and litigating coverage actions

• Discovery management

• Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, etc.

• Prepare for arbitration, mediation, and depositions

• Trial preparation

• Prepare correspondence

• Legal research

• Projects as assigned

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Must hold an active California Bar license

• 2-8+ years of insurance defense and/or insurance coverage experience is required

• Strong legal analysis and writing skills

• Ability to communication well, both verbal and in writing

• Willing to work on-site in Oakland, CA on a hybrid basis
