Robert Half has an opening for a Controller for a client in the Service industry who is seeking an ambitious candidate to join their reputable company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Based in the Orlando, Florida area, this opening for a Controller is a permanent position.
Your responsibilities
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Requirements
CPA required
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
External auditing experience preferred
Solid understanding of Sage 300
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
