Robert Half Technology Senior Desktop Support / Senior Technical Analyst in Parsippany, New Jersey

In this role, the Senior Technical Analysts role is to aid in ensuring the stable operation of the Group's in-house network infrastructure. This includes assisting in planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. Further responsibilities/duties are listed below:

  • Administer and support the IT infrastructure from critical servers and network hardware to end user workstations; Including but not limited to: o Maintenance of Group's Exchange 2010 environment; o Maintenance of Group's VMware (vSphere 5 or higher) environment;

  • Ensure IT Infrastructure Policies/Documentation are kept up-to-date; and

  • Ensure assigned operational tasks are performed on agreed schedule;

  • Maintenance of the companies Disaster & Systems Recovery Procedures;

  • Field incoming helpdesk requests from end users via telephone, e-mail, and helpdesk, in a prompt and courteous manner;

  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from business users;

  • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests;

  • Conduct research on network products, services and standards in support of network projects;

Requirements: Education:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience. Required Skills/Experience:

  • 2-5 years' experience managing a computer network in a customer facing support and maintenance role

  • Experience supporting/administrating Microsoft Exchange 2010+ Management, ideally in a Geographically dispersed environment

  • Experience supporting/administrating Microsoft Lync 2010+ or Skype4Business

  • Experience with TCP/IP / IP Routing / WAN-MPLS experience / Troubleshooting Skills

  • Experience understanding PC and Server Builds – Memory, Disks, Controllers, etc.

  • Experience with Windows Server 2008/2012/2016

  • Experience managing security solutions/infrastructure, including firewall and anti-virus systems

  • Experience in administering a Disaster Recovery Plan and High Availability Failover environment

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Be able to demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving and planning

  • Ability to plan, implement and manage projects independently

  • Ability to effectively prioritize, execute, and complete tasks

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

  • Exceptional customer service orientation

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
