We are offering a unique opportunity for a Controller in the service industry, located in Portsmouth, Virginia. This role involves overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support decision-making processes. This role plays a key leadership role within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and regulatory reporting.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.

• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Monitor cash flow and manage working capital effectively.

• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Provide guidance on technical accounting issues and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

• Collaborate with external accountants for reviews and tax returns.

• Manage payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payment of employees.

• Utilize accounting software to streamline financial processes.

• Perform administrator duties for various software systems including QuickBooks Enterprise, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and Cloud computing.

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain accurate customer credit records.

Requirements

• Demonstrable proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Proficiency in managing Accounting Functions and reconciliations

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge and experience in Auditing and Financial Reporting

• Understanding of Budget Processes

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro is essential.
