Description

A well-respected firm in the wholesaler is working with Robert Half to find a Senior Accountant with previous accounting experience. Preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting are among the key responsibilities for this role. Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for working in fast-paced environments are musts. This Senior Accountant role is located in Rochester, New York. What you get to do every single day

  • Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Engage in various department-wide initiatives

  • Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary

  • Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

  • Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

  • Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAA

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 1+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Skilled with ERP systems

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

  • Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Exceptional time management skills preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

  • Credit Card Reconciliation experience

  • Sales Tax Returns experience

  • Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
