Description
Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a dynamic real estate company that is looking to add a Controller to the team. As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our organization's growth and success. Key Responsibilities:
Review month-end closing activities, including general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple entities.
Manage weekly cash management activities, including check signing, fund transfers, and approvals for large expenditures.
Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors, overseeing audit and tax workpaper preparation.
Collaborate with the Executive Management Team to provide financial information and analysis.
Ensure credibility of the accounting group through accurate financial analysis and reporting.
Oversee investor and lender communications, routine reporting, and audit approvals.
Coordinate lenders' and investors' due diligence for new projects.
Identify refinancing opportunities and manage investor redemptions.
Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and handle correspondence with government agencies.
Evaluate insurance coverage proposals and recommend options.
Provide financial and tax advice to the Executive Management Team.
Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
CPA certification preferred, not required.
5+ years of experience with significant accounting responsibilities.
Experience in property management or real estate industry preferred.
