Description

Do you have excellent analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles? Robert Half is looking for experienced Senior Accountants to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions for our clients in the Salem area. Senior accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. Senior accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of accounting tasks.

Job Duties:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitoring financial performance and variances.

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, and other related filings.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including journal entries and balance sheet accounts.

  • Audit Support: Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, resolving discrepancies.

  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, monitor liquidity, and prepare cash flow forecasts.

  • Financial Systems: Utilize financial software and tools for data entry, reporting, and analysis.

  • Compliance: Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure the company's financial practices are in accordance with applicable laws.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification is a plus.

  • Proven experience as an Accountant, with at least 4 years in a senior or supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Proficiency in financial software, including Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
