Description We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the manufacturing industry, based in San Antonio, Texas. The role involves maintaining and overseeing accounts, dealing with past due balances, and working with customers to resolve debt. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate payment arrangements for customers with past due balances

• Contact customers via various methods to resolve past due balances

• Negotiate methods of payment for outstanding debts including settlements, payment plans, or other means of collecting

• Review past due accounts daily to identify current and future past due accounts

• Monitor delinquent customer accounts and take appropriate collections action as needed, including issuing collection letters

• Maintain records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, comments, as well as actions taken

• Work with customers to clarify issues, identify underlying concerns, and develop an understanding of their needs

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely processing of customer payments

• Ensure financial accuracy and legal compliance related to processing payments

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and contractual agreements throughout the collection process

• Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation

• Apply strong negotiation skills in resolving customer debts

• Use Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and various accounting software systems in daily tasks

• Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Mastery of Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Billing Functions

• Familiarity with Collection Processes

• Previous role as a Collector

• Understanding of Credit systems

• Strong Customer Service skills

• Experience managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
