Description
Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Accountant who's looking to build their career in a thriving, dynamic setting in the San Antonio, Texas area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for producing financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Requirements - Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Financial reporting experience desired
Construction Accounting experience highly desired
Construction experience preferred
Deep understanding of SAP
Expertise in month end closings
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
ERP system experience
2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Vow to meet business deadlines
Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Skilled at time management
