John Asdell with Robert Half is partnered with a well-established private healthcare company with operations through Southern California that is seeking an Accounting Manager. This person will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. Reporting directly to the ownership partners, this position will lead a team of three direct reports and will be responsible for producing audited financial statements in accordance with tax-basis accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the production of accurate and timely audited financial statements for the organization, ensuring compliance with tax-basis accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, coordinating with accounting team members to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of journal entries.

General Ledger Management: Manage the general ledger system, including chart of accounts maintenance, journal entry review, and reconciliation oversight. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data recorded in the general ledger.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads, providing analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making. Conduct regular forecasting to assess financial performance and identify potential risks or opportunities.

Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to evaluate the financial health and performance of the organization, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to support operational efficiency and profitability.

Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and liquidity, optimizing cash management processes and strategies to ensure sufficient funds for operational needs and capital investments.

Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets, minimize financial risks, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Tax Compliance: Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, overseeing the timely preparation and filing of tax returns and other required documentation.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting

• Proven experience (7+ years) in a Senior Accountant and/or Accounting Manager role

• Healthcare or real estate industry experience preferred
