Robert Half Staff Accountant in San Diego, California

Description We are offering a contract-to-hire opportunity for a Staff Accountant at our San Diego, California location. This role is within the non-profit industry and focuses on tasks such as account reconciliation, journal entries, and budget creation. This position offers a unique chance to utilize and enhance your skills in areas such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and cash flows.

• Engage in budgeting activities, including creating, monitoring, and providing information to management.

• Reconcile cash and balance sheets on a regular basis.

• Prepare technical reports for various government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels.

• Utilize technical accounting systems to record accounting transactions, create ad hoc financial reports, and monitor General Ledger activity.

• Support with annual financial interim and final audit activities.

• Perform other projects as assigned.

• Manage fixed asset records and transactions.

• Assist in the monthly-end close process.

• Use software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks.

• Perform account reconciliation tasks frequently. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a related role within the non-profit industry

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Extensive knowledge in managing General Ledger

• Ability to create and maintain Journal Entries

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Experience in using NetSuite and QuickBooks for accounting tasks

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Capable of conducting Account Reconciliation

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to ethical behavior and compliance with laws and regulations

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of accounting
