Robert Half Accounts Receivable Analyst in San Francisco, California

Description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Receivable Analyst to join one of our partners in managing the revenue cycle for the healthcare industry in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly in the healthcare industry, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The Accounts Receivable Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing and Invoicing:

  • Generate and submit accurate and timely invoices for services provided to patients and insurance companies.

  • Verify insurance coverage and process claims according to billing guidelines and regulations.

  • Monitor and address any discrepancies or rejections in billing submissions.

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Perform daily reconciliation of accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances, aging reports, and delinquent payments.

  • Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries and disputes.

  • Identify and escalate any trends or issues impacting accounts receivable performance.

Revenue Cycle Analysis:

  • Analyze revenue cycle metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

  • Prepare and present reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to accounts receivable and revenue cycle management.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategies for enhancing revenue cycle efficiency and effectiveness.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, billing standards, and privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).

  • Stay updated on changes in reimbursement policies, coding requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Audit billing and documentation processes to maintain accuracy and integrity.

Systems and Technology Utilization:

  • Utilize accounting software and revenue cycle management systems to process transactions and maintain records.

  • Provide input for system enhancements and optimizations to streamline revenue cycle workflows.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or revenue cycle management, preferably in a healthcare setting.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing procedures, coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10), and reimbursement methodologies.

  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, such as HIPAA, preferred.
