Description
Are you passionate about solving puzzles, negotiating, and ensuring financial stability? Join our client's team as a Collections Specialist and become an integral part of their mission to maintain healthy financial relationships with their small business clients while maximizing recovery rates. This is a 1 year long contract position.
As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing overdue accounts and delinquent payments. Your primary goal will be to recover outstanding debts while preserving customer relationships and upholding ethical and legal standards. This role requires a combination of communication skills, empathy, and persistence to effectively resolve outstanding balances.
Your responsibilities in this role
Contacting customers via phone, email, and mail to collect outstanding payments.
Negotiating payment plans and settlements with customers in accordance with company policies and regulations.
Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and payment agreements.
Analyzing delinquent accounts and identifying root causes of non-payment.
Collaborating with internal teams such as sales, customer service, and finance to resolve customer issues and prevent future delinquencies.
Escalating unresolved accounts to management or legal departments as necessary.
Staying up-to-date on industry regulations and compliance standards related to debt collection practices.
Requirements
2+ years of relevant experience in a billing or collections role
Experience with ERP systems
Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
