Robert Half Litigation Legal Secretary in San Jose, California
Description
Robert Half is recruiting an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary for the San Jose office (mostly remote!/telecommute hybrid 3x/wk!) of its regional law firm client. This position supports four attorneys.
The qualifications for the position are the following:
• 3+ years of experience as a legal secretary supporting busy litigators;
• Experience assisting in labor & employment litigation and public entity clientele is a plus, but not required;
• Preparation of varied pleadings including discovery, law and motion matters, writs, appellate pleadings and briefs;
• Significant filing in state and federal courts at both the trial (Superior Courts for state cases and District Courts for federal cases) and the appellate level; and
• Command of federal and state rules of court and local court rules and procedures.

Requirements
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Understanding of and experience with legal correspondence and court filing procedures is a plus
Expertise in database management
5+ years of litigation legal secretary experience
Solid knowledge / understanding of local jurisdictional and federal court rules and procedures
Should be knowledgeable of word processing and spreadsheets
Adeptness in efiling with state courts
Practical knowledge of assisting attorneys
Federal court filing experience
Solid understanding of employment litigation
Court rules knowledge preferred
E-file experience
Demonstrated knowledge of appellate courts
Preparing pleadings experience
Skilled at time management
