Robert Half Sr. Accountant in San Jose, California
Description We are looking for a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our team in the High Tech - Electronics industry based in San Jose, California. The role involves managing customer credit applications, maintaining credit records, and handling customer credit inquiries. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze Gross Margin, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and Inventory
• Process and maintain customer invoicing and inventory records using SAP
• Handle Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes and maintain RMA records
• Execute intercompany purchases, payments, and non-inventory billing in SAP
• Oversee Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) procedures
• Participate in SAP implementation and internal control documentation projects
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of third-party inventory to inventory counts within SAP
• Prepare inventory reserve and other inventory/COGS adjustments
• Carry out monthly/quarterly journal entries and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
• Participate in year-end review/audit procedures
• Prepare property tax, 1099, and other corporate tax filings. Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years' experience as an Accountant in the High Tech - Electronics industry
• Proficiency in using SAP software is required
• Experience with Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is essential
• Knowledge and experience in Inventory Analysis is crucial
• Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability.
