Robert Half Full-Charge Bookkeeper in San Mateo, California

Description

Robert Half is recruiting for a Full-Charge Bookkeeper for a leading service company based in San Mateo, CA, dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. How you can contribute:

  1. Manage all aspects of the company's day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.

  2. Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.

  3. Generate financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis to provide management with timely and accurate financial information.

  4. Process vendor invoices and payments in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with payment terms and company policies.

  5. Prepare customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection of payments.

  6. Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization.

  7. Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  8. Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasts to support the company's financial planning and decision-making processes.

  9. Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis to help management understand financial performance and identify areas for improvement.

  10. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

  11. Stay updated on changes in accounting principles and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices in financial reporting.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  2. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Bookkeeper role.

  3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.

  4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.

  5. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.

  6. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments.
