Robert Half Attorney/Lawyer in Silver Spring, Maryland
Description
Robert Half is searching for a junior litigation attorney with experience in or a demonstrated interested in family law to join our client located in Silver Spring, MD. You will perform a range of duties including filing legal documents, attending court proceedings, participating in mediation sessions, and offering useful advice to clients. To excel in this role, the successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator with excellent negotiating skills. Have a license to practice law in Maryland is a must, DC or Virginia a plus! After initial onboarding period, the candidate can work from home 2-3 days/week.
Responsibilities
Assist senior attorneys in all stages of domestic relations matters;
Primary liaison for clients, opposing counsel, court;
Legal research and cite-checking;
Assist with case management;
Calculate Support numbers using statutory guidelines;
Work with clients to prepare financial affidavits;
Draft, redline and analyze complex legal documents;
Handle court hearings/statuses independently.
Requirements
Requirements
Licensed attorney with 1+ years of experience- family law experience preferred, but not required
Demonstrated interest in practicing Domestic Relations/Family law
Top notch academic credentials and references
Legal drafting experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work alone and as part of a team
