Robert Half Logistics Coordinator in Stamford, Connecticut

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator in Stamford, Connecticut. The role involves managing and coordinating logistics processes, including transportation, shipment, and delivery activities. You will be working in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient logistics operations.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for all matters related to outbound shipment regulations and procedures.

• Supervise and manage orders, tracking details, and documentation required for shipments.

• Ensure all outbound shipments are dispatched timely and meet all customs and trade requirements.

• Proactively monitor loads in transit and resolve any issues that may arise.

• Manage the movement of materials, equipment, and supplies for all outbound shipments.

• Negotiate with carriers and freight forwarders to secure favorable pricing and terms.

• Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.

• Conduct analysis of logistics operation to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.

• Handle customer complaints, rate quotes, or dock check requests as required.

• Understand and comply with all security regulations within the transportation and logistics industry.

• Process and track freight claims and resolve any issues related to outbound shipments.

• Review and approve invoices resulting from logistics processes.

• Monitor out of stock orders and pending order reports.

• Receive and audit BOL/shipping labels and invoices related to customs and shipping services.

• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency. Requirements

• Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills are essential.

• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce and Outlook.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task.

• Strong organizational, project management and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility and the desire to take on additional responsibility.

• Knowledge of an inventory system preferably, but not required.

• Independent thinker and ability to demonstrate initiative in day-to-day work assignments

• Articulate, with exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquettes

• Ability to handle customer and internal situations that, at times may be stressful
