Description

Nick Corieri with Robert Half in Syracuse is seeking candidates for another Accounting Manager hiring need for a local growing company located right in the heart of downtown Syracuse. You will feel appreciated in your day-to-day work and be rewarded for your efforts at this position. If you can take charge of daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties, you might be right for this Accounting Manager position with a burgeoning, innovative company.

Your responsibilities

  • Team up with FP& A and accounting management to develop relevant, timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

  • Provide regular review and analysis of balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant

  • Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements through data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes

  • Assemble various technical accounting policies, procedures, and analyses

  • Ensure close deadlines are met by encouraging and managing the accounting team performance during the closing process

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

    Requirements - Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • Microsoft Excel experience preferred

  • Job Cost experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger

  • Experience with construction project accounting

  • Practical knowledge of bookkeeping

  • General familiarity with general ledger

  • Foundational knowledge in construction project accounting

  • Adeptness in GAAP Accounting

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Construction Accounting

  • Recent relevant financial experience

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset
