Description
Chris Preble is working with one of his Syracuse clients on a Director of Accounting role. This hiring need is with a very well established company that has very low turnover and good benefits. This role has a bonus, 401k match, and more. What is key, is someone that has a good personality that wants to further develop a team under them and help bring an accounting department to the next level. There will be process improvement and modernization of the department in this role. You'll have a good team that reports into you.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Accounting to join our team. The Director of Accounting will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of the company, providing leadership in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. This individual will collaborate closely with senior management to drive financial performance, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Provide strategic guidance on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks facing the company and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Implement internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Cash Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support ongoing operations and strategic initiatives. Optimize cash management processes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Strategic Decision Support: Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior management. Evaluate investment opportunities, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives from a financial perspective.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and development opportunities to support the growth and success of team members.
Requirements
Bachelors of accounting
CPA or MBA is an asset
