Description

Jenny Bour with Robert Half is looking to staff a Senior Buyer with our growing client! The Senior Buyer will play a pivotal role in coordinating procurement activities, focusing on sourcing raw materials and contracting services critical to our manufacturing processes. The successful Senior Buyer candidate will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, implementing cost-effective strategies, ensuring quality standards, and securing timely deliveries to support our production schedule. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best terms regarding price, quality, and delivery schedules.

  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, including conducting supplier audits and implementing improvement plans as necessary.

  • Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.

  • Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.

  • Utilize ERP systems and Excel to track procurement metrics, generate reports, and provide insights for decision-making.

  • Mentor and support junior members of the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience with procurement in the manufacturing industry, with a proven track record of success.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.

  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and inventory management principles.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
