Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Accountant in Waunakee, Wisconsin. This role is critical within our organization and will be responsible for participating in the day-to-day operations of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and month-end close processes. This role will operate within a dynamic workplace and will require a strong proficiency in various software applications including Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Responsibilities:
• Participate in daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and month-end close processes
• Enter Accounts Payable invoices and manage approvals from department heads
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes
• Manage and reconcile bank accounts, including monitoring cash flow
• Prepare, request, and gather monthly expense reports from management
• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
• Verify correct payment or accrual of sales use tax and file annual reports
• Process fixed asset transactions and depreciation and prepare and file personal property tax return
• Provide information for Workmen’s Comp Audit
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including filing Sales and Use tax monthly.
Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant or in a related role.
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is necessary.
• Proficiency in General Ledger management and Journal Entries is required.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel is necessary for data management and analysis.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential.
• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for financial management and operations is required.
• The applicant must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Professional certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), is preferred.
• The candidate should be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
• The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is a must.
• The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and have a high level of accuracy in their work.
