Utilize your skills in the Manufacturing industry as a Controller for a renowned company for a position available through Robert Half. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. The permanent Controller position is situated in the West Chester, Ohio area.
What you get to do every day
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

Requirements - Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
CPA/MBA preferred
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
