Description
Legal Assistants should have strong analytical, communication and organizational skills, as well as computer and technical knowledge.
How you will make an impact
Quality check copies against originals and confirm copies
Supervise matter management and record keeping
Faxing, filing, and word processing
Maintain electronic documents and files
Assemble correspondence and memorandum
Log computer database input and retrieval
Group documents together in need of photocopying/scanning
Assemble documents and arrange data as directed by lawyers and paralegals
Stay proactive on legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed
Sift through and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites
Requirements - Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents
Draft Legal Documents experience preferred
Draft Letters experience
Adeptness in Microsoft Office Suites
Court Filings experience
Solid understanding of Civil Litigation
Demonstrated knowledge of proofreading
Experience with Collections
Conducting routine discovery
Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database
2+ years of previous legal work experience and a dedication to integrity
Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions
Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information
