Description
Robert Half is searching for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary opportunity with a fast-growing company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Clifton, New Jersey region.

Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements - Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Strong attention to detail
Skilled with ERP systems
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Bank reconciliations experience
Proficiency in PeopleSoft
Monthly Bank Reconciliation experience preferred
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
