Based in the Addison, Texas area, this opening for a Controller is a permanent position. If you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, you might be right for this position. Major responsibilities

  • Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

  • Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  • Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual Requirements - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
