Robert Half Project Accountant in Addison, Texas
Description Build your career in accounting with Robert Half, now offering a permanent position in the Construction/Contractor industry for an experienced Staff Accountant that has a knack for problem-solving and enjoys new challenges. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Key responsibilities
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP Requirements - Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experience with ERP systems
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proven knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Command of AIA Billing
Microsoft Excel experience
Microsoft Word experience highly desired
Full Cycle Accounting experience desired
Deep understanding of project accounting
Well-founded grasp of billing
General familiarity with Job Cost
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
