Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our HVAC company's financial team. This role demands excellent problem-solving skills and deep accounting knowledge. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and forecast preparation, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports.
An ideal candidate will have experience in the HVAC or a related industry.
Responsibilities:
Process accounts payables and receivables, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Monitor and maintain inventory accounting records.
Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules.
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Manage general ledger accounting and assist with month-end close procedures.
Analyze and report on expenses, cash flow, and forecasts.
Assist with annual budget preparations.
Understand and carry out financial analysis to provide insight into business performance.
Collaborate with financial team and other colleagues on department goals and objectives.
Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Experience in HVAC or a related industry is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
Solid knowledge of accounting software.
Sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong knowledge of financial reporting.
Excellent organizational skills.
Detail-oriented, professional, and reliable.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
