We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accountant II (Intermediate) in Akron, Ohio. This role is part of our client's General Ledger Operations Team and focuses on various accounting operations within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting account reconciliations and maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger.

• Assisting in the creation and approval of journal entries in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Utilizing SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Essbase for data mining purposes and to assist in accounting analysis.

• Participating in project work, including UAT/QA testing using scripts, organizing meeting notes, and maintaining project lists.

• Performing application maintenance by updating systems and making necessary changes to procedures.

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for tasks such as creating Pivot tables, utilizing V-Lookups, and implementing formulas.

• Actively participating in accounting operations such as Payroll and Accounts Payable.

• Ensuring the balance sheet and income statement are accurate through thorough accounting analysis.

• Participating in accounting functions on the General Ledger Operations Team.

Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and Power BI

• Solid understanding of accounting operations and procedures

• Experience with payroll processing and account reconciliation

• Familiarity with creating and maintaining journal entries

• Knowledge of SQL for data mining and managing databases

• Proficiency in using Tableau for data visualization and reporting

• Familiarity with balance sheet account maintenance

• Experience in conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and AB Testing

• Ability to perform accounting functions and maintain EO/IR systems

• Capacity to manage meeting notes and organize information

• Experience with Essbase and other accounting software

• Knowledge of application maintenance best practices

• Understanding of accounting operations and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
