Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Akron, Ohio

Description We are in search of an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in the manufacturing industry located in Akron, Ohio. This role involves supervising a small team of analysts and handling various accounting functions, such as invoicing, monitoring customer accounts, and processing payments. This role provides a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise a small team of analysts, providing guidance and support when necessary

• Generate and dispatch invoices to customers accurately and promptly

• Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and take action to collect outstanding balances

• Resolve any billing discrepancies and disputes with customers

• Process incoming payments in different forms such as checks, credit card transactions, and electronic transfers

• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Prepare aging reports and other financial analyses related to accounts receivable

• Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries and resolve payment issues

• Use Accounting Software Systems, Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites for various accounting functions

• Handle Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing Functions, Cash Activity, and Check Processing. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) is required.

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 is essential.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites are required.

• Proficient in various Accounting Functions.

• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.

• Knowledge of Billing Functions is required.

• Ability to handle Cash Activity efficiently.

• Experience in Check Processing is necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• detail oriented certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.

• Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
