Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our client's procurement team. The Buyer's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams on their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team's performance.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement purchasing strategies, ensuring the company's supply needs are met.
Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and prices.
Oversee the operation of the purchasing department, tracking procurement KPIs.
Coordinate with team members and department heads to forecast future supply needs.
Identify potential suppliers and build strategic partnerships to secure competitive prices.
Review supplies to ensure quality.
Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to maintain inventory levels and manage the cycle of stock in and out.
Attend relevant industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to keep abreast of the latest industry trends.
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years' experience as a buyer in a similar industry.
Excellent knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to network and build strong relationships with suppliers.
Robust analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
Proficiency in inventory management software and databases.
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are also very important for this role.
