Description We are offering an opportunity for a Collections Specialist in Akron, Ohio, 44307, United States. The role involves contacting delinquent customers to collect past due payments or establish alternative payment arrangements, maintaining files related to collection activities, and recommending actions for management decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Contact delinquent customers via telephone or mail to collect past due payments and establish alternative payment arrangements
• Maintain and manage files relating to collection activities
• Use basic skip tracing techniques to locate delinquent customers
• Recommend actions for management decisions in dealing with repossessions, bankruptcy, and/or foreclosure
• Arrange for appropriate bank and/or legal action based on account analysis and as directed by manager
• Provide excellent customer service and display strong negotiation skills
• Understand complex processes and adapt to change
• Drive continuous improvement in the collections process
• Maintain proficiency in using a computer and keyboard for data entry and communication purposes
• Possess the ability to work independently and demonstrate effective communication over the phone. Requirements
• Proven experience in customer service. This manager is open to call center, hospitality, restaurant and retail customer service
• Strong understanding of collection processes and regulations
• Proficiency in MS Office and database software
• Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Experience in a call center customer service environment
• Strong phone presence and communication skills
• Ability to maintain files effectively
• Proficient keyboard skills and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
• Knowledge of QA Management and ability to uphold quality standards
