Robert Half Corporate Controller in Akron, Ohio

Description

Our manufacturing client, located in Akron, Ohio, is looking for an interim Corporate Controller. In this role, you will be expected to oversee the financial and accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance with GAAP Accounting standards, managing the accounting close process, and contributing to business strategy development.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the entire accounting close process.

• Ensure all financial operations comply with GAAP Accounting standards.

• Develop and implement financial policies to guide the company's financial decision-making process.

• Contribute to the development of the company's business strategy.

• Prepare and present financial reports for external reporting purposes.

• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and forecast future financial performance.

• Collaborate with other departments to align financial management with overall business strategy.

• Implement internal controls to minimize financial risk.

• Oversee and manage the company's budgeting and financial forecasting processes.

• Provide guidance and leadership to the accounting team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in operations.

Requirements • Must have a strong understanding of GAAP Accounting.

• Proficiency in managing the Accounting close process is required.

• Capable of handling External Reporting duties effectively.

• Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing Financial Policy.

• Should possess strategic thinking capabilities for effective Business Strategy planning.

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is necessary.

• Previous experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry is preferred.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.

• Must be able to work collaboratively with different departments.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.

• Experience with financial software and systems is a plus.

• Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

• Proven ability to oversee and manage a team.

• Should possess high ethical standards and integrity in professional conduct.

• Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation is required.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are necessary.

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
